BEAUTY IN DISORDER
Built around an anti-perfectionist philosophy, the collection turns disorder into its own visual language.
Asymmetry, unexpected layering and deconstructed silhouettes reshape the body and challenge conventional ideas of how clothing should sit, move and behave. What initially feels unfinished, spontaneous or even chaotic becomes intentional through movement.
It is within this tension that DAPHNE.LAB and MARRKNULL meet: a shared instinct to question the expected, break familiar structures and leave room for individuality.

For the collaboration, footwear becomes part of the collection’s distorted proportions and constantly shifting silhouettes.
Footwear plays a central role throughout the DAPHNE.LAB x MARRKNULL collaboration. Statement DAPHNE.LAB boots, from cutout buckle over-the-knee boots to platform OTK silhouettes, extend the collection’s layered and deconstructed language from clothing to the ground.
Rather than simply completing each look, the collaborative shoes extend the visual language of IN A HURRY from the body to the ground — exaggerating shape, disrupting familiar footwear structures and giving each step its own presence.

TWO LANGUAGES, ONE ATTITUDE
Founded in 2016 by Tim Shi and Mark Wang, MARRKNULL explores fashion through reconstruction, anti-fashion and the collision of historical and contemporary Chinese culture. The label was named an LVMH Prize semi-finalist in 2023.
DAPHNE.LAB carries forward a footwear legacy that began with Daphne in 1987. At its height, Daphne became one of the most recognized names in China’s women’s footwear market, building a nationwide retail presence and decades of expertise in women’s shoes. DAPHNE.LAB takes that heritage into a new generation, reworking it through experimental footwear, statement boots and unconventional silhouettes rooted in individuality and self-expression.
Together, DAPHNE.LAB and MARRKNULL bring two distinct design languages into conversation — decades of footwear expertise meeting an experimental approach to contemporary fashion. The result is a collaboration that turns imperfection into possibility.
